SUMMARY:Truffle Discovery & Tasting at Ashridge
DESCRIPTION:SOLD OUT – Explore other available dates\n\nJoin us as our dogs show you how they sniff out rare black truffle. Then taste seriously delicious truffle treats around a warm cosy fire.\n\n\nSomewhere under these trees\, there’s a truffle waiting. Bindi the dog is ready to lead us. \nFollow your nose along the Noojee Truffle Trail and into the Truffière at Ashridge Truffles\, where winter mornings are crisp\, the ground is alive\, and the hunt is about to begin. \nWhat happens when you arrive You’ll step onto the farm\, breath visible in the cold air\, and be welcomed in by the people who farm truffles here. Step into the cosy farm shop and have a chat about farm life and what it takes to be a truffle farmer. Then you’ll meet the real expert. Bindi has one job – and she is very\, very good at it. You’ll also meet the apprentices – the sweet Molly and mischievous pup Lulu – and learn how truffle dogs are trained from the ground up. \nThe Truffle Discovery Watch as Bindi’s trained nose meets the crisp air. There’s a moment when she lifts her head and catches the scent. Then she’s off\, tracking. When her paw scratches the ground\, we follow her lead. We dig. And just like that\, something hidden becomes visible. \nBindi works year-round to keep her nose sharp – trained through the off-season so that when winter comes and the truffière is ready\, so is she. Today you’ll see that instinct at work. The nose work\, the moment of the find\, the scratch of the paw: it’s amazing to see\, and it’s something most people never get to witness up close. \nFrom Truffière to Farm Shop & Farmer’s Kitchen Just as the cold settles in\, you’ll follow your nose again – this time towards the warmth of the Farm Shop & Farmer’s Kitchen. Step inside and the temperature shifts. A log fire burns. The windows look out across the farm. The kitchen is warm\, and something good is already underway. \nTastings from the Farmer’s Kitchen Settle in and taste truffle the way it’s meant to be experienced – simple\, seasonal\, and just out of the kitchen. Warm\, comforting bites. Food that lets the ingredient speak. The truffles in the kitchen are sourced to match the season\, and where our own harvest allows\, you’ll taste truffles from the trees you’ve just walked through. As you eat\, you’ll hear the stories – from the truffière to the kitchen in front of you. \nWhat you’ll experience \n\nIntroduction to truffle farming and how truffle dogs are trained\nGuided walk through the truffière\nWorking dog demonstration — watch a trained nose find truffle\nWarm truffle tasting from the Farmer’s Kitchen\nStories from the farm\, from soil to plate\nThe opportunity to purchase fresh truffle or truffle treats to take home\n\nBefore you go You’ll leave warmer than you arrived. With full senses\, and something to talk about on the drive home. Cold air. Warm fire. Real truffle. This is what winter is supposed to feel like. \nPart of the trail This is one stop along the Noojee Truffle Trail. Follow your nose through the forest\, find the truffle\, then step inside\, warm up\, and taste where it all leads. From here\, take a photo at the lookout just opposite the farm entrance\, then head off to one of the Noojee Truffle Festival’s hospitality venues. Fit in a short walk on one of the forest trails before the end of the day.

SUMMARY:Truffle Farmer's Dinner at The Toolshed | Noojee Truffle Festival VIC
DESCRIPTION:Spend a winter evening around the fire with the people who grow truffle – a relaxed dinner with great food\, and a working dog demonstration\n\n\nSpend a winter evening around the fire with the people who grow truffle – a relaxed dinner with great food\, and a working dog demonstration \nSome of the best conversations happen around a fire. This one starts with truffle. \nThe Toolshed Bar & Bistro sits on the banks of the Latrobe River\, among some of the tallest timber you’ll see anywhere. The building itself began life as a farmhouse\, buried under blackberry bushes until someone looked hard enough to find it. It was pulled back together with timber from the property\, materials from old clearing sales\, and a lot of local help. The bar was once a toolshed and chookhouse. The bench you’ll lean on was milled from ninety-year-old pine trees that grew right here. \nIt’s that kind of place. And it’s the right backdrop for this kind of evening. \nYou’ll sit down with truffle farmers – the people who inoculate the trees\, train the dogs\, and wait years for the ground to deliver. The chef has been working with their truffle and has things to say about that too. Between the food and the fire and the dog working the room\, the evening has a way of unfolding naturally. \nThe Evening \nThe night begins with a welcome truffle snack as you settle in. Then\, weather allowing\, step outside into the garden to watch the dog demonstrate what a trained nose can do – the moment the scent is caught\, the scratch of the paw\, the find. Back inside\, the chef and farmer take to the kitchen together to prepare a wood-fired truffle pizza\, and you’ll hear how that collaboration works from both sides. Dessert is an apple crumble with truffle custard\, served by the fire. \nDrinks are available at the bar throughout the evening. \nWhat to expect \n\nWelcome truffle snack on arrival\nWorking dog demonstration – indoors or in the garden\, weather permitting\nWood-fired truffle pizza\, prepared by the chef and farmer together\nFarmer presentation on training truffle dogs and growing truffle\nChef presentation on cooking with truffle – what they’ve learned\, what surprised them\nApple crumble with truffle custard by the fire\nDrinks available for purchase at the bar\nOpportunity to purchase truffle before you leave\n\nGood to know \n\nBring a coat – the garden is beautiful in winter and we’ll use it if we can\nBring a camera – The Toolshed has an atmosphere worth keeping\n\nGetting there The Toolshed is an hour and a half from Melbourne through some spectacular West Gippsland country\, and 45 minutes from Mount Baw Baw. Noojee is a town with a story — twice rebuilt after bushfires in 1928 and 1939. The drive is worth it.

SUMMARY:Florals and Truffles in the Forest | Noojee Truffle Festival VIC
DESCRIPTION:Winter\, flowers\, firelight — and a gathering in the forest.\n\n\nRug up. Step into the forest. \nThe drive alone is part of the experience – winding from Noojee through towering mountain ash and fern-lined roads. Keep an eye out… lyrebirds are never far away. At the end of it\, a clearing opens. \nYou’ll arrive to a warm welcome – a glass of bubbles or mulled wine in hand – and an outdoor fire crackling at the centre of it all. From there\, something savoury. Locally made\, still warm savoury scones are served with truffle butter – rich\, simple\, and deeply comforting. The kind of flavour that lingers\, best enjoyed slowly\, fireside. \nHosted by Ridge Road Blooms\, this is a winter gathering shaped by place\, season\, and a story that began almost by accident. In 2014\, a simple question — what will we do? — led to a decision of growing flowers. What started as an idea has\, over a decade\, become a thriving flower farm\, now supplying native-style blooms to the wholesale market across Australia. \nLed by founders Heather and Norm\, you’ll hear how the farm has evolved — from its early uncertainty to a deeply rooted connection with the land — and how seasonality\, sustainability\, and intuition guide what grows here today. \nSelect a bunch of curated flowers from the farm to take home. \nJoin a workshop learning how to make the most of flowers. Creating your own piece of floral art to take home\, guided by an understanding of sustainability and what thrives here — and why that matters. \nAfterwards\, the farm opens up to you. \nWander the Gardens \nTake your time as you move through rows of seasonal bloom — each one with its own moment in the year\, its own character. \nTake in the scent of over 300 scented daphne bushes \nProteas\, ever-present through the seasons.\nLeucadendrons\, carrying colour deep into the cooler months. \nWaratahs\, bold and unmistakable starting to bud up.\nLeucospermums — with the promise of bright pins of colour as spring turns to summer. \nAnd then\, something rarer. \nFor a brief window each year\, the conditions here allow for the growing of Blushing Bride — a highly sought-after flower internationally\, with stems from this farm making their way to markets in the United States. \nIt’s fleeting. Seasonal. And part of what makes this place so special. \nAlongside them\, the King Proteas — large\, textured\, quietly spectacular. It’s not just what’s in bloom\, but how it all sits within the landscape — the scent\, the scale\, the stillness of the forest around you. \nOn clear winter days\, views stretch from Western Port Bay to the Latrobe Valley. On misty days\, the forest settles in — soft\, still\, and wrapped in cloud. \nBring your camera. Or simply wander. \nReturn to the warmth of the fire\, and take a little of the farm home with you — with the option to purchase micro herbs grown on site as well. \nA gentle\, sensory experience — grounded in winter\, and rich in detail. \nWhat to Expect \n\nWelcome drink on arrival (bubbles or mulled wine or non-acholic cocktail).\nWarm savoury scones with truffle butter.\nA curated bunch of flowers from the farm.\nFireside gathering in a forest setting.\nGuided floral workshop creating your own seasonal mini arrangement to take home.\nTime to wander the flowering farm and gardens.\nOpportunity to purchase herbs from the micro herb farm on site.\n\nGood to Know \n\nDress warmly — this is an outdoor winter experience\nDetailled directions will be emailed prior to event with signage – google maps is a guide only!\nGumboots or sturdy footwear recommended\nDrive carefully on the forest road (wildlife is part of the landscape)\nBring a camera if you’d like to capture the scenery and blooms

SUMMARY:Truffle Discovery & Tasting at Ashridge | Noojee Truffle Festival VIC
DESCRIPTION:Join us as our dogs show you how they sniff out rare black truffle. We dig.
